交互装置案例 Interactive Installation Case 木罅载时 Time Held in Wood’s Fissures
以一段悬置的枯木为视觉主体,将自然遗存、数字影像与交互生成置于同一展览空间之中。枯木表面的裂隙、孔洞、纹理与弯曲形态,保留了生长、风化与时间侵蚀留下的痕迹,也像是一段被自然封存的生命档案。

罅隙之中藏着时间
Time Hidden in the Fissures
Time Held in Wood’s Fissures takes a suspended piece of withered wood as its central visual form, bringing together natural remains, digital imagery, and interactive generation within one exhibition space. The cracks, cavities, textures, and curved structure of the wood preserve traces of growth, weathering, and the erosion of time, like a life archive sealed by nature. Using the withered wood as a mirror, the work does not regard it as a silent remnant, but transforms the veins hidden within its fissures into natural signals that can be read. As viewers encounter the stillness of the physical wood, the flowing particle imagery on the screen, and the gradual emergence of sound and poetry, they sense the inner resonance of a nature that has never truly fallen silent.
INTERACTION
扫描唤起自然密语
Scanning the Secret Speech of Nature
Through laser scanning and infrared sensing, the work captures the wood’s textures, cavities, and spatial movement, while Arduino, Max/MSP, and TouchDesigner together form the interactive core. Once the scanning process is completed, the system translates the form of the wood into natural signals that can be interpreted by AI algorithms, generating particle-based visuals, sonic variations, and related poetic lines on the left screen. Insect sounds, forest wind, and birdsong unfold with the rise and fall of the wood grain, while points of light and color move along the structure of the branch. Viewers do not need to perform complex actions; by witnessing the continuous process of scanning, recognition, and generation, they observe how a still piece of wood becomes image, sound, and text.

SYSTEM
技术退后诗意生长
Where Technology Becomes Atmosphere
The focus of Time Held in Wood’s Fissures is not to foreground technology itself, but to reopen the sensory relationship between human beings and nature through technological means. Laser scanning moves like a slow eye, reading the textures of time within the wood; AI acts as a translator, turning fissures, cavities, and branch movements into particles, sound, and poetry. Within the cracks of the wood, light and shadow shift like passages through time, and the digital image becomes more than a screen-based visual—it becomes another way for the traces of natural life to appear. Between stillness and growth, matter and data, nature and intelligence, the work forms a delicate connection, turning the exhibition space into a poetic site of time, hidden life, and digital perception.
